Ethan Zuckerman

Ethan Zuckerman is a Research Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. His research focuses on the use of information and communication technologies for economic development, and on media coverage of developing nations.
Prior to his work at Berkman, Ethan was the founder and chief technologist of Geekcorps, a non-profit technology volunteer corps. Founded in 2000, Geekcorps pairs skilled volunteers from US and European high tech companies with businesses in emerging nations for one to four month volunteer tours. Volunteers have served in 12 nations, completing over a hundred projects.
Prior to founding Geekcorps, Ethan helped found Tripod, an early pioneer in the web community space, and served as Tripod's chief technology officer. He lives and works in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA.
