Wikipedia Community Day Sunday, 13 June 2004, 11-19:00
Technical University Berlin, main building, Room H 2033
Mod: Erik Moeller
Journalist and Wikipedia Author/Developer, Berlin
This international meeting of the Wikipedia community is first of all an opportunity for people who have so far primarily communicated over the Internet to get to know one another face-to-face. It is not a meeting about wikis in general, but about the "internal affairs" of Wikipedians. One primary concern for the German Wikipedians is the setup of a German daughter organization of the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., which operates Wikipedia and its sister projects. The formalities of this process will be discussed.
The results of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees election, closed on Saturday, will be officially announced. The meeting will also be used to discuss Wikipedia's internal policies, those of our sister projects like Wikibooks and Wiktionary, possible future projects for the Wikimedia Foundation, effective fundraising, quality control mechanisms, and the print edition.
