Stefan Richter, born 1966, is a computer scientist and engineer. His earliest passion was chemistry. But the first lines of code he wrote on an Apple II in 1983 changed his life. After various activities as a scientific software developer – in the department for meteorology and oceanography at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar Research, in the applied research department at the aerospace division at the Institute for Applied Systems Engineering and in commercial software engineering – he became the founder and first staff member of freiheit.com technologies. He is especially interested in artificial intelligence, evolutionary and genetic programming, programming languages and information retrieval.
